Standard Vehicle Rental Agreement & Governance Statement for Deals On Wheels Australia.
Effective Date: April 2026
1Interpreting Your Rental Agreement
This Rental Agreement is made between Deals On Wheels Australia ("Deals On Wheels", "We", "Us") and the renter ("You", "Your"). By reserving, taking possession of, or operating any vehicle from Deals On Wheels, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These terms apply to all vehicle rentals, sales inquiries, tolling arrangements, roadside assistance, and vehicle damage policies.
2Driver Eligibility & Licensing
- Licence Requirement: You and any Authorised Driver must hold a current, valid, full Australian driver licence (or a valid international licence with an official English translation).
- Experience: Drivers must have held a full licence for at least 12 consecutive months prior to vehicle pickup.
- Provisional Licence Holders: Provisional (P-plate) licence holders may be accepted subject to prior written permission, surcharge, or special excess conditions. Learner drivers are strictly prohibited.
- Identification: You must present valid photo identification (Passport or Driver Licence) and proof of residential address at the time of vehicle collection.
- Authorised Drivers: Only individuals explicitly registered as Authorised Drivers on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.
3Where You Can & Cannot Drive
Vehicles must only be driven on properly formed and constructed sealed, metalled, or gravel public roads.

- Beaches, sand dunes, streams, rivers, or flood waters.
- Off-road trails, fire trails, or unsealed logging tracks.
- Snow zones above the snow line (e.g. Jindabyne or Bright during June–September) without written consent.
- Interstate transit into Northern Territory, Western Australia, or Tasmania without prior written authorisation.
4Prohibited Vehicle Uses & No Smoking Policy
You and any Authorised Driver must NOT:
- Drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or narcotics exceeding legal limits.
- Use the vehicle for racing, speed testing, or illegal purposes.
- Carry passengers or freight for commercial payment/fare without commercial permits.
- Tow any trailer, caravan, or vehicle without prior written consent and fitted tow gear.
- Strict No-Smoking Policy: Smoking or vaping inside the vehicle is strictly forbidden. If smoking or excessive dirt/odour is detected upon return, a professional detailing and sanitisation fee ($28.50 admin fee plus actual detailing cost) will apply.
5Insurance, Excess & Vehicle Damage Policy
Comprehensive insurance is included in your rental rate. In the event of damage or loss to the vehicle or third-party property:
Standard Excess
Your financial liability is limited to a $1,000 standard excess per incident, provided you comply with all terms of this agreement.
Accident Protocol
Contact us immediately on +61 433 178 890. Take photos of damage, exchange driver/vehicle details, and do not admit liability at the scene.
*Exclusions from Standard Excess: Overhead damage (e.g. striking car park structures), underbody damage from kerbs/gutters, water inundation, tyre/wheel damage due to reckless driving, or failure to report theft to police immediately.
6Fuel & Return Conditions
- Fuel Policy: The vehicle will be delivered with a full tank (or specified level) and must be returned with the same level of fuel. If returned with less fuel, a refuelling service fee per litre plus administrative costs will be charged.
- Late Return: Vehicles must be returned on or before the date and time specified in your booking. Late returns without prior notice incur a late fee of $45.54/day plus applicable daily rental rates.
- Condition: The vehicle must be returned in a clean and safe condition, fair wear and tear excepted.
7Electric Vehicle (EV & Tesla) Annexure
If you rent an Electric Vehicle (EV or Tesla):
- EVs are provided with at least 77% battery charge and must be returned with the same level. A recharge fee of $34.16 (10%-76%) or $68.31 (<10%) applies if returned depleted.
- Automatic Car Wash Exclusion: Tesla vehicles MUST NOT be driven through automatic car washes. Any sensor, paint, or body damage resulting from automatic car washes is excluded from insurance excess and is 100% renter liability.
- Superchargers: All Tesla Supercharger or public fast-charging fees incurred during the rental period will be billed back to your account.
8Tolls & Traffic Infringements (Linkt E-Toll)
You are responsible for all tolls, parking fees, speed camera fines, traffic infringements, and council fines incurred during your rental. E-tolls incurred on Australian toll roads will be processed via Linkt and automatically charged to your nominated account along with standard toll processing fees ($3.30/day on toll usage days).
9Roadside Assistance
24-hour Roadside Assistance is provided for all inherent mechanical faults at no extra cost. For customer-at-fault incidents (such as flat batteries due to headlights left on, keys locked inside vehicle, empty fuel/battery, or tyre changes), a roadside callout fee (minimum $255.62) will apply unless optional Roadside Cover was purchased.
10Governing Law & Contact Information
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria and New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be handled in accordance with the Australian Car Rental Code of Practice.
